Why didn't Jason, Zack, and Trini choose their replacements?
We all know the 'behind the scenes' excuse for this, but I'm talking about in the show. Zordon picked out Rocky, Adam, and Aisha. But from later cast changes:
Kim got to pick her replacement in S3. Aisha got to choose her replacement before Zeo. Rocky wasn't really in a position to choose and got stuck with Justin. Tommy, Adam, Kat, and Tanya got to choose their replacements in Turbo. So why didn't Jason, Zack, and Trini get to pick their replacements? They barely even knew Rocky, Adam, and Aisha. You'd think Zordon would have said: "Alright, YOU must choose three new Rangers before you leave." If they had been able to pick, who do you think they would have chosen, or would they have picked Rocky, Adam, and Aisha anyway? |

Re: Why didn't Jason, Zack, and Trini choose their replacements?
That did seem wierd at the time. It also threw me off how much easier it was for Kim to transfer her powers to Kat. The Rangers needed to go on a quest to find the Sword of Light so they could transfer to Rocky, Adam, and Aishia.
Perhaps their was really no time and Zordon knew The three were the best choices? Kim brought Kat on her own and Zordon approved. The Turbo Rangers reached a right of passage so it made sense they would have the honor of choosing their replacements. |

Re: Why didn't Jason, Zack, and Trini choose their replacements?
I agree that there wasn't any time for them to choose their own replacements because Zordon really had no clue when the Peace Conference announcement was coming and he couldn't stand in their way to go and on top of which because of Serpentera being around (even though it was a constant power drain issue) they needed to be at full power.
However in the case of Kimberly easily transferring her powers to Kat, I think that can explained away very easily. I'm pasting it from my own site's FAQ. Quote:
