If you are a long time Power Rangers fan, I don't have to tell you that this is one of the classics. At the time of MMPR's fad status everyone was wondering who the new White Ranger was. This episode did an excellent job of leaving us in suspense to just what was going on. I love how they have Zedd make mention of turning Tommy back to the dark side. Than ( later in the episode) Tommy gets teleported away from a beach with no explanation. That whole thing was an excellent red herring to confuse people. I remember wishing without hope that Tommy was the White Ranger. I still wasn't compeletly sure at this point but I had a good idea it would be him. It was fun looking back at the old style of putty fights. Its funny how people complain about SPD's over use of poses in some episodes. Old school MMPR episodes like this have the same problem but no one cares . But I guess thats what happens with the orginal episodes. Scarlet Sentinal was probably one of the Rangers toughest foes in all of season 2. That monster seemed to have serious power. The makers of Dairanger sure did a good job of creating a menacing monster for the PR production team to later adapt. The Rita subplot was an interesting touch to this episode and left you unsure of exactly where it was going. The only problem with Builk and Skull is that they seem to take up a lot of time in the two parters. I used to find my self saying, " come on lets get back to the Rangers". But I suppose they needed that type of filler. Its funny looking back to that kind of stuff though. Overall this episode is one most PR fans will remember. But is not as historic as the second part would be for obvious reasons.
