Andrew Hartford was a rich industrialist who went on many archeological adventures. He refused to take Mack on his advetures, Mack was his teenage son. Hartford found the Carona Aurora, which  accidently awoke Flurious and Moltar. Sentinal Knight explained the imprtance of the Crown and its missing Jewels. He told Hartford what he had to do to ensure that the Jewels did not fall in the wrong hands. Hartford spent the next several months building Ranegr powers and other equitment. He recriuted Rose, Ronny, Will, and Dax to be his Overdrive Rangers. He intended for himsel to be  Overdrive Red. Mack found out about Hartford's mission and asked to be the new Red. But Hartford felt it was too dangerous for him. During an early battle Hartford lost his morpher. Mack assumed Hartford role as Red Ranger. Hartford felt tha this son did a good job but decided it was best that he become the Red Ranger as planned. Moltar  captured the crown and Hartford. Forcing Mack to help the others as Red Ranger. Hartford was rescued but th crown remained in ememy hands. Hartford relented and let Mack stay on as Red Ranger.  Hartford continued to work on Overdives  systems and equitment.  He directed the Rangers as they lookd for clues for the Corona Aurora. When Mack lost the team in an avalance, Hartfod encoruaged him to keep trying (after Mck had wanted to give up).  Hartfiord came up with a a plan to make it look like Will had turned on the Rangers So he could use this against Kandor and Miratrix. Will was working with Hartford the whole time. Later Hartford got mad when Will lost one of the jewels to Kamdor. And didn't seem to mind when he quit. Spencer was able to convince Hartford that Will made a mistake. He just needed to get back in the fight. When the Rangers were cut off from the grid, Hartford worked tirelessly to reconnect the team. Former Rangers were brought back to work in the OO team's place. Hartford was disapointed when the OO Rangers resigned. But the teens returned when the realized they were still Power Rangers in heart.  Alpha 6 was able to reconnect them to the grid. Hartford always made the jewels the prority. Even when Will and Ronny were captured ( Will was able to escape and later rescue Ronny). Hartford always worried about Mack and seemed to be hiding some secret about him. It was eventually revealed that Mack was actually a robot. Hartford had built him to be the son he always wanted. This created a rift between Hartform and Mack. As Mack had trouble forgiving him and started to call his father by his last name. Andrew kept trying to get through to Mack. And insisted that MAck becoming a Ranger was his own choice, not part of his programming. Hartford grew frustrated when Mack started to get reckless in battle. But Mack refused to back down from his attitude towards his father. When Mack was held hostage by Flurious, Andrew was willing to give up all the jewels they had found. Mack was amazed that his dad could make such a sacrifice for him and  they reconciled. . Mack was bad;y damage after he  defeated Flurious for the Crown. Andrew wa unable to repair him and knew building a new Mack wouldn't be the same. Sentinal Knight was able to restore Mack with the crown. Which made him fuilly human. Andrew finally took Mack on one of his adventures.

Spencer was Hartford's butler. He had a very sarcastic wit but always gave good advice to the Rangers. He was a big proponent of Mack becoming a Ranger. He always seemed to help the Rangers through their personal problems. Spencer frequently used elaborate disgusies on himself to aide the Rangers.  Once disgused himself as Ronny to get Thor's hammer from Loki. Spencer insisted that Mack snap out of his depresion when  he found our he was a robot. Since the team needed him. Spencer had been the only one Hartford trusted with his secret.
