Zackary Taylor was chosen by Zordon to be the Black Power Ranger. He enjoys dancing every chance he gets, even on stilts. The one thing that scares Zack is bugs, especially spiders, mice, and snakes. Zack was initially dismissive of being a Power Ranger, but he soon discovered that he was right for the job. Zack had a unique fighting style, one that he called “hip-hop kido” which he also taught to a group of students, and even Alpha 5.

Zack and Jason are more like brothers than friends, and it shows during their conversations and when they’re out on the battlefield. Zack is close with all of his friends, and he enjoys making them laugh, especially Kimberly.

Zack had a crush on a girl who went to his high school named Angela. However, Angela did not feel the same way towards Zack, and turned him away many times. Zack refused her answers, and continued to ask her for dates, but she kept turning him down. Although he didn’t have very much luck in his own love life, Zack gave Tommy some tips on how to pursue Kimberly. Zack came close to scoring a date with Angela, but their moments were always interrupted by the sound of his communicator going off.

Zack bought special pearls for Angela for her birthday. These pearls were really cursed by Rita and caused Angela, Jason, Kim, and Billy to freeze. Zack and Tommy had to battle the oysterizer to free their friends from the evil spell. Zack borrowed Tommy's sheild whlile battling the monster. Angela was mad at Zack for the whole ordeal ( after her pearls disintergrated) but soon realized Zaxk really did care about her. The two finally got together.
