I think it was just the writers finding a way to make Rita and Zedd more than comedy villains that they were in that season. They, of course, failed.

It'd be better if they just made Rita & Zedd join the Machine Empire after the Zeo Rangers defeated King Mondo using the Super Zeo Megazord. Maybe they could have Klank & Orbus make upgrades to Rita, Zedd, Rito, Goldar, Finster, Squatt and Baboo and make them into a machine-like version of them. That way, some interesting storylines could be told.

Yes, it would require more original footage, but what if the Rangers would be divided between stopping their former adversaries who would be now machine-driven and doing the right thing which would be finding a way to make them normal again.

I didn't mind Louie Kaboom has a transition to Gasket and Archina. All the cilkian drama was interesting. I do wish their was a Zeo Season 2 where Rita ane Zedd take over the Machine Empire. With Takset and Archina showing up in the background like the above did in Zeo.

I thought he was one of the weaker characters in the season. But at least he didn't last very long at all.

that wouldn't be a bad idea but they didn't have any footage for him for Turbo. All of the main villains in Turbo (other than Divatox) they could use Sentai footage for them.

I thought the whole thing with him as a little unnecessary. Why not go with Gasket right away?How did Zedd and Rita even get Louie anyway?

I think they were just trying to use the Sentai Footage in the best way that made sense for them. It was more interesting than going right to Gakset anyway. Plus it would have been a waste just to use him as a monster of the day.

exactly plus they probably thought it'd be funny that upon Gasket and Archerina's arrival they have the latter place a charm spell on the previous boss.

He was fine for what he was. I don't think you could have got anymore episodes out of him without it getting boring though.

The monster of the day feel is what bothered me. Plus he had little personality and seemed like a one note villain.

I think all the villian maneuvering was pretty entertaining. Too bad the climax with Zedd and Rita winning power back was never followed up on.

It was very important not to deviate from the Super Sentai. Its bad enough they just don't dub Sentai.

I kind of like the idea behind him but I think my problem is not so much Louie himself as much as the fact that he represents how much I think Zeo had a problem with too many villain plots.

Like first it was just King Mondo but then you Louie Kaboom, and finally Gasket, and you had the sub plots with Zedd, and Rita, and Goldar, and Rito living on Earth.

Maybe if he was some exiled Machine Empire general who saw Mondo's death as a chance to become King for himself that would be better.

get over yourself it ain't ever gonna happen. Dynaman failed as an example of that plus Ultraman failed as well see the pattern? dubbing a live action show doesn't work except for how your hatred does it and that's the best you're going to get whether you like it or not. Saban is smart and wise enough to know that dubbing Sentai isn't going to work in our market.
Also count yourself lucky that Shout! Factory is releasing Sentai-subbed DVDs since that's the only kind of Sentai-related release you're gonna get and they wouldn't be able to do so without Saban's approval.

To be honest it wasn't so much the stuff with the Machine Empire themselves but I thought the stuff with Rita and Zedd seemed to go nowhere especially since they kept treating it like they were going to come back.

Like I can understand some twist where we think Louie Kaboom is just another robot but then he breaks down somehow, and it turns out he's just an inanimate robot being used by Zedd, and Rita.
